Ruckle Buckle Compression Strap |
|
This project centers around the Ruckle-Buckle and its use to form a compression strap. Pictured below, a RB compression strap can be used to stabilize a ruck (here a MOLLE Large on a DEI #1603 pack frame). A common ladder This item is not something that DEI sells, but below are details about how to construct and operate one, which we hope will help with your own gear design. |

The compression strap is made up of two lengths of 1"
web strap, and three pieces of hardware. The two Ruckle-Buckle
s (above in red) form loops at the end
of each strap. A tension adjuster (above in yellow) allows the
overall length of the strap to be adjusted.
To the left, a tensioning strap can be used to horizontally compress a ruck sack (MOLLE Large pictured here). The Ruckle-Buckle loops anchor the strap to the frame.

Here the loops has been opened by stripping the sewn tab out of the Ruckle-Buckle. This open loop can be passed around the frame of the pack and then closed to attach the compression strap. |
