DEI# 1685 - Magazine Holster

First Production Parts

Production samples have been shot in a stock material.  Once the tool is optimized, we will begin material trials.  A likely candidate would be the proprietary material used in the 1603 pack frames.  The front of the magazine needs to be made less shiny but dimensionally and functionally, the parts are quite good.
The rivets currently being used to attach the straps need to be swapped out for double headed versions, but there are currently no issues with the rivets damaging the straps or the magazine with heavy usage.
The magazines shot in stock material do not need an elastic web strap, but it adds roughly 12% to the clamping force.  This effect can be optimized by strap location and tension.
We are still working on the adhesion of the rubber gripping strip inside the magazine, to maximize its lifespan.  The present version is quite resistant to chemical attack, but it is unknown how well it will wear with thousands of cycles of function.
