RFB:  Soldiers engaged in small arms combat must be able to quickly locate, grab, and insert spare ammunition magazines into their weapons with maximized speed and accuracy. Firefights are typically of short duration and are extremely violent affairs where fumbling of any kind can mean the difference between life and death. While the soldier may typically carry six or more primary weapon (M4) magazines in their combat load, quicker access to one or two should improve their war fighting capabilities.  The goal of the DEI #1685 is to provide quick access to a standard M4 magazine, with sufficient retention.
